Culture in Action

Post Conference Workshop - Tues 26 and Wed 27 January, 2010

When Ghandi was asked what he thought of western civilisation, he replied that “It would be very good idea ...”. Today, many of us aspire to develop ‘informed grace’ in living and working with people from cultural backgrounds very different to our own. And yet at times we can’t get past our own cultural biases and blind spots.

This workshop will help you recognise differences in cultural values and develop your spontaneity in the midst of conflicting cultural expectations. There will be pre-reading, a self-assessment, sociometric and sociodramatic explorations, presentations and reflections.

You can expect to enhance your cultural self-awareness, inter-cultural auxiliary work, sociodramatic perspective and professional practice with people from diverse backgrounds.
