The Art of Psychodrama Production: Delightful Artistry - Dynamic Method
Post Conference Workshop - Tues 26 and Wed 27 January, 2010
Production is at the heart of directing psychodrama. On the stage our day by day functioning, in being and becoming, in difficulties and delights, can be recognised, vitalized, developed and restored. This is done in a space dedicated to spontaneity, within a community of good will, with artistic direction and the application of psychodramatic methodologies. Production is the art through which the director and protagonist set out realities - super realities, surplus realities and creational realities - so that they can be encountered and appreciated.
In this workshop you will develop a sense of the multidimensional stage where many perspectives can be produced (including space, depth, time, realities, history, social atom) apply Moreno’s insights into the degrees of freedom in spontaneity and the five instruments in ways that will enhance your artistry and methodology in production deepen your capacity to make sense of what you see in the ordinary situations you meet in the course of your work develop increased appreciation of your own artistry as a producer, develop broad constructs that make good sense and delight in the dynamics of role
Leader
Don Reekie, Trainer Educator and Practitioner, is currently a member of training staff of CITP Christchurch and The Moreno Collegium Queensland. Delight is Don’s prime experience with each person and group he works with. Moment by moment he attends to minute particulars, to movements and motivations. He enjoys producing psychodrama: finding that good theatre leads to good therapy with a freshness in reflection, the opening of recognition and the freedom to choose and act. He knows that the psychodramatic method creates the opportunity for people to move themselves strongly forward in their lives. He has seen this producing a pacific island dance drama team’s rediscovery of their chant, dance and history, in producing community created mystery plays, in promoting renewal in maternity practice with professionals and mothers, in weekly evening “Creative Living” sessions for a decade, and in working with men to “Stop violence and harness anger”. He works to develop cultures where each member is likely to trust their spontaneity, creativity and expression.
