Someone Untied Your Camel: Living with Order and Disorder in Social Networks
Pre-Conference Workshop – 20th and 21st January, 2010
Sociometry has at its core a vision of cohesive groups, interpersonal mutuality and a stable society. Unnerving and destabilizing interactions create a momentary period of alarm and panic. There is a threat of disorder and chaos - your reliable camel has gone AWOL. Volatile group cultures can equally 'untether your camel'. Our individual ability to recover spontaneity has many implications for our own psychological health as well as the health and stability the groups and sociometric networks we live in. In this workshop the field of sociometry will be the central focus with the aim of developing our ability to be the initiators of greater mutuality in relationships and leaders of cohesive groups.
